Baltar has extensive professional experience in the legal and regulatory field, both at law firms and financial institutions, and he was General Secretary and General Counsel at Barclays in Spain.
He comes from CaixaBank, where he was International Corporate Counsel.
At Andbank he will take up the position of General Secretary of the Group and the Board of Directors, also being responsible for supervising the group’s international subsidiaries, reporting directly to Antonio Castro, Deputy Director of Corporate Services.
Andbank has appointed Jacobo Baltar as the new General Secretary of the Group and the Board of Directors. Baltar will also be responsible for supervising international subsidiaries, reporting to Antonio Castro, Deputy Director of Corporate Services.
This new appointment is part of the internationalization process carried out by the Andbank Group since 2008. The bank is thereby reinforcing its commitment to good corporate governance and to the recruitment of top-level professionals, two of the Group’s main aims in its strategic plan.
Baltar has extensive professional experience in the field of legal advice and financial regulation. He comes from CaixaBank, where he was International Corporate Counsel in London. Previously, he was Secretary General of Barclays in Spain and Director of Legal Advice for the same entity.
The new General Secretary of the Andbank Group began his professional activity at international law firms, first at Uría Menéndez, then at Garrigues and, finally, at Baker & McKenzie. He holds a Degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a Master’s in Legal Advice and a global MBA from the IE Business School. He has also worked as an Associate Professor of Financial Markets Law at Carlos III University in Madrid.
